Today, its Monday 26th July and I did something really amazing today… before I tell you what I did… first reflect on the last goal or target you set yourself.
What did you decide to do? Did you do it, when you wanted to do it by? Do you remember how you felt?
Here are my answers to those questions
What did I decide to do? – Take part in a benchmark row at my gym today, 26 July 2021 – 9.30am class and I wanted to beat my previous personal best of 9.03sec for a 2000m row. I told the coach I wanted my time to have an 8 at the start of it….
Did you do it, when you wanted to do it by? – Yes!!! I turned up, having just watched Tom Daley and Matty Lee dive to Gold medal position in the 10m dive and Tom Pidcock take his Gold medal in Mountain Biking – I was a bit buzzy and ready for it to happen! I completed the 2000m benchmark row in 8.13sec – so that is a yes…. I had an 8 at the start of it!!
Do you remember how you felt? – Yes, I was gasping for breath after putting in as much as I could – I was totally made up for doing what I set out to do! I compete with myself on these challenges and just like the gold medallists this morning – I took my Gold Medal away with me.
Reflection: What might have happened if I had said I wanted a 7 at the start of my time? Well that is another post next time we do the 2000m benchmark row!
